About Cycas revoluta - Sago Palm
Cycas revoluta, commonly known as Sago Palm, is a striking, slow-growing evergreen cycad with a symmetrical rosette of stiff, deep green, glossy, feather-like fronds. Despite the name, it's not a true palm — but offers a distinctly tropical look and architectural form.
Typically growing 1 to 2 metres high and 1 to 2 metres wide, it produces a thick, textured trunk and a neat crown of fronds that unfurl with a soft lime colour before deepening. It thrives in full sun to part shade, tolerates drought once established, and performs well in pots or garden beds. It is excellent for creating a bold focal point in modern, tropical, or coastal gardens.
They look excellent when planted as feature specimens in pots, repeated along paths or entrances, or used in formal designs for texture and symmetry. Suitable for a wide range of climates, it offers year-round evergreen structure with very little maintenance required.
