Collection: Magnolias
Magnolias are renowned for their stunning, showy flowers and glossy green leaves, making them some of the most popular flowering trees. These trees can vary greatly in size, from smaller shrubs to large trees reaching up to 10m tall. The iconic Southern Magnolia is well-known, but there are many other types like the Little Gem Magnolia and Teddy Bear Magnolia. They bloom in early spring, with flowers emerging before the leaves on deciduous varieties. Evergreen types bloom heavily from spring to summer. Magnolias are adaptable to a variety of garden sizes and are resistant to many diseases and pests, requiring little care once established. The flowers range in color from pink and purple to white and yellow, some varieties even having double blossoms. They are believed to be among the earliest known flowering plants and are primarily pollinated by beetles.
