PLANT PROFILE
Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Green’ is a graceful, low-growing Japanese maple admired for its finely cut, lacy green foliage and elegant cascading form. The deeply dissected leaves create a soft, feathery texture, glowing bright green in spring and summer before transforming into vivid shades of gold, orange, and red in autumn. Mature specimens typically reach 1.5–2 metres tall and 2–3 metres wide, forming a naturally domed, weeping shape that provides year-round structure and colour.
This small, deciduous tree thrives in part shade to full sun in cooler climates and prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soils. Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Green’ is frost hardy and benefits from protection from strong winds and hot afternoon sun. Its slow growth and refined appearance make it ideal for courtyards, Japanese-inspired gardens, and containers.
They look excellent as feature trees in shaded beds, near water features, or planted on banks where their weeping branches can cascade gracefully. Their finely textured foliage and compact form bring a tranquil, elegant presence to any landscape.
