PLANT PROFILE

Grevillea ‘Red Hooks’ is a vigorous and hardy evergreen shrub widely grown for its bold, red spider-like flowers and lush, deeply divided foliage. Flowering almost year-round, it produces a prolific display of vibrant blooms that attract birds, bees, and pollinators. The fine, fern-like leaves form a dense, bushy habit, giving this variety both ornamental and practical appeal. Mature plants typically grow 2–3 metres tall and 2–4 metres wide, forming an excellent screening shrub or informal hedge.

This resilient Australian native thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. Grevillea ‘Red Hooks’ is drought tolerant once established, frost hardy, and adapts well to coastal or inland conditions. It requires minimal maintenance and responds well to pruning, encouraging dense new growth and extended flowering.

They look excellent as screening plants, feature shrubs, or mass-planted for colour and wildlife attraction. With its long flowering period, toughness, and vibrant red blooms, Red Hooks is one of the most reliable and attractive Grevilleas for Australian gardens.
