Its glossy, dark green, lobed leaves turn soft yellow before falling, and its rounded canopy provides shade and structure year-round. Mature trees typically reach 4–6 metres tall and 4 metres wide, making it ideal for gardens, avenues, or small landscapes.
This hardy European tree thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating a wide range of conditions including clay, wind, and frost. Crataegus ‘Paul’s Scarlet’ is low-maintenance and well-suited to temperate climates. It’s both drought and frost hardy once established and ideal for adding colour and charm to cottage-style or formal gardens.
