About Crassula ovata ‘Silver Dollar’ – Silver Dollar Jade
Crassula ovata ‘Silver Dollar’, commonly known as Silver Dollar Jade, is an evergreen succulent prized for its large rounded silver-green leaves and strong architectural form. The thick fleshy foliage creates a bold sculptural appearance, while the naturally branching habit develops into an attractive shrub-like specimen over time.
It performs best in full sun to partial shade and free-draining soils, adapting exceptionally well to dry climates, coastal conditions, and low-maintenance landscapes. Once established, Silver Dollar Jade develops excellent drought tolerance and requires very little ongoing care, making it ideal for waterwise gardens and container displays.
They look excellent when used as feature plants, in succulent gardens, courtyards, rockeries, coastal landscapes, and decorative containers where year-round structure and foliage interest are desired. Mature plants may also produce clusters of small star-shaped flowers during cooler months.
