About Agave celsii ‘Variegata’ – Variegated Agave Celsii
Agave celsii ‘Variegata’ is a compact architectural succulent grown for its elegant blue-grey foliage highlighted by creamy-yellow variegation. The symmetrical rosette form and colourful foliage create a refined focal point, making it ideal for contemporary gardens, courtyards, and decorative container displays.
It performs best in full sun and free-draining soils, where the foliage develops its strongest colour contrast. Compared with larger Agave species, it maintains a more compact and manageable size while still providing excellent structural impact. Once established, it requires very little supplemental watering and minimal maintenance.
They look excellent when used as feature specimens, architectural plantings, rockeries, coastal gardens, and decorative pots where year-round foliage colour and sculptural form are desired. The combination of compact growth and attractive variegation makes this variety particularly useful in smaller landscape spaces.
