Betula nigra 'Summer Cascade' is the only genuinely weeping River Birch in cultivation, holding long cascading branches that fall almost to the ground from a compact frame. It combines that graceful form with the toughness of the species, which is what separates it from the ornamental birches that struggle in Australian conditions.
'Summer Cascade' grows to 4 to 8 metres tall and wide at 40 to 80 centimetres per year, considerably smaller than a standard River Birch.
