About Agave attenuata ‘Blue Flame’ – Blue Flame Agave
Agave attenuata ‘Blue Flame’, commonly known as Blue Flame Agave, is a striking architectural succulent grown for its broad blue-grey foliage and elegant rosette form. The smooth spineless leaves curve gracefully outward, creating a softer appearance than many traditional Agaves while still delivering strong structural impact in the landscape.
It performs best in full sun to partial shade and free-draining soils. The attractive blue foliage remains ornamental throughout the year, while its drought tolerance and low maintenance requirements make it highly suited to modern gardens and waterwise landscapes. Unlike many Agaves, the leaves are smooth and safer for use near pathways and outdoor living areas.
They look excellent when used as feature specimens, courtyard plants, coastal gardens, contemporary landscapes, and large decorative containers where year-round architectural form and foliage colour are desired. The combination of soft form and bold foliage makes Blue Flame Agave one of the most versatile landscape succulents.
