PLANT PROFILE

Adenanthos sericeus – Woolly Bush is an evergreen Australian native with soft, silver-grey foliage that’s both visually striking and silky to touch. Growing 2–5m high with a narrow to slightly spreading habit, it offers texture and contrast in low-maintenance gardens.

They look excellent as short informal hedges, soft screens, or feature plants in coastal and dry-tolerant landscapes. Small red tubular flowers appear sporadically and attract native birds without disrupting form.

Performs best in full sun to light shade, tolerates coastal exposure, and requires little maintenance once established. A reliable choice for tactile contrast and light structure in informal planting schemes.

How to Plant Adenanthos sericeus

  1. Select a Spot: Opt for an area with good sunlight, though it tolerates light shade.
  2. Soil Preparation: Ensure well-draining soil, enriching it with compost if needed.
  3. Dig: Make a hole approximately twice the size of the plant's root ball.
  4. Position: Set the Woolly Bush in the hole, backfill, and firmly pat the soil.
  5. Watering Initiation: Water generously immediately after planting.

Use this as a reference when digging your planting hole. We recommend digging at least 10% wider than the dimensions below to encourage strong root development.
