Its large, deeply lobed palmate leaves turn rich yellow-brown in autumn, while the tree's broad, spreading canopy provides excellent shade.
The mottled, exfoliating bark adds striking texture and year-round interest, making it a standout in urban streetscapes, parks, and large gardens. 'Bloodgood' is well-suited to tolerate pollution, compacted soils, and varying soil types, thriving best in full sun to partial shade.
This tree requires regular watering during establishment but becomes moderately drought-tolerant as it matures. With low to moderate maintenance needs, it remains a reliable and ornamental choice for large-scale, high-traffic landscapes.
