About Curio cylindricus ‘Nola’s Pride’ – Nola’s Pride Blue Chalk Sticks
Paragraph 1
Curio cylindricus ‘Nola’s Pride’ (formerly Senecio cylindricus), commonly known as Nola’s Pride Blue Chalk Sticks, is an evergreen succulent prized for its striking blue-grey cylindrical foliage and compact architectural form. The upright finger-like leaves create a distinctive sculptural appearance, while the powdery blue colouring provides exceptional contrast against green foliage and flowering plants in the landscape.
It performs best in full sun and free-draining soils, thriving in coastal, Mediterranean, and dry inland climates. The foliage develops its strongest blue colouring in bright sunlight and well-drained conditions. Once established, Nola’s Pride develops excellent drought tolerance and requires very little maintenance, making it ideal for low-water-use gardens and contemporary landscapes.
They look excellent when used in succulent gardens, rockeries, coastal landscapes, decorative containers, and waterwise gardens where unique foliage colour and architectural texture are desired. Its compact habit and year-round foliage interest make it a valuable addition to both residential and commercial landscape projects.
