Camellia × williamsii 'Betty Ridley' is an upright evergreen shrub from the williamsii group, producing semi-double to peony-form soft pink flowers from late winter through to early spring. Foliage is glossy, mid to dark green, and slightly smaller than typical japonica forms, providing dense year-round cover. The growth habit is upright with naturally even branching.

Performs best in morning sun to part shade with well-drained, slightly acidic soils enriched with organic matter. Frost tolerant once established and suited to cool temperate, warm temperate, and protected coastal positions. Drought tolerant once established, with occasional deep watering supporting flowering during extended dry periods. Williamsii hybrids generally self-shed spent flowers, reducing maintenance.
