This palm typically grows 8–20 metres tall and 3–5 metres wide, forming a single trunk with a neat crown of fronds. Cream to pale pink flowers appear in spring and summer, followed by bright red fruit which attracts native birds. It thrives in full sun to part shade, tolerates coastal conditions, and handles light frost once established.
They look excellent when planted in rows along driveways or boundaries, grouped around pool areas, or used as vertical accents in courtyard gardens. The Bangalow Palm brings a soft, leafy structure to the landscape and is particularly valuable in subtropical and sheltered temperate sites.
