About Acacia Longifolia (Sydney Golden Wattle)
The Acacia longifolia – Sydney Golden Wattle is a fast-growing, evergreen native shrub or small tree (4–10m H × 2–5m W) with long green phyllodes and dense golden flower spikes from late winter to early spring. It looks excellent along rural boundaries, in mass native plantings, or naturalised into sloped landscapes where fast cover and vibrant seasonal colour are needed.
Acacia longifolia – Sydney Golden Wattle thrives in full sun, tolerates drought, poor soils, and coastal exposure, and is commonly used for erosion control, windbreaks, and habitat planting. Its nitrogen-fixing roots improve soil structure and support surrounding vegetation.
Low maintenance and quick to establish, this variety is ideal for revegetation zones, large-scale planting, or low-input gardens. Space 2–3m apart for full spread.
