Nyssa sylvatica 'Forum', known as the Forum Black Gum Tree, is a striking deciduous tree admired for its glossy green leaves that transform into vibrant reds, oranges, and purples each autumn. Growing 10–15 meters tall and 6–10 meters wide, it features an upright, pyramidal form that adds elegance and year-round interest to parks, gardens, and large landscapes.
This tree produces small, inconspicuous flowers in spring and tolerates a range of soils including clay and loam. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and has moderate drought tolerance, requiring regular watering during establishment and dry periods. Maintenance is low, with minimal pruning needed to maintain its shape.
