Waterhousea floribunda (Weeping Lilly Pilly) is a fast-growing, Australian native tree ideal for informal hedging, screening, and boundary planting. It features dense, weeping foliage with vibrant pink to wine-colored new growth and a lush, cascading form that softens garden edges while providing year-round privacy and wind protection.

Reaching heights of up to 12 metres, it delivers effective noise reduction and visual screening, making it suitable for urban gardens, poolside planting, rural boundaries, and streetscapes. Its fluffy white flowers attract birds, bees, and beneficial insects, supporting local biodiversity. Tolerates a range of soils and thrives in full sun to part shade with adequate watering. Low maintenance and naturally tidy, it can be left unpruned or shaped as needed. Not drought or frost tolerant but highly resilient in temperate climates.

Please note, as living products, our trees naturally vary in size and appearance throughout the seasons. How to Plant Waterhousea floribunda - Weeping Lilly Pilly

How to Plant Waterhousea Floribunda - Weeping Lilly Pilly:

1. Choose the Right Location:
Select a well-drained planting location that receives either full sun or part shade. Ensure the soil has good drainage properties.

2. Proper Spacing:
Plan your planting spacing according to your desired hedge formation speed. For a faster-forming hedge, plant them every 80cm apart. For a slower formation, space them further apart.

3. Planting Depth:
When planting, dig a hole that is at least as deep as the root ball and twice as wide. Place the tree in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil.

4. Watering and Mulching:
After planting, water the tree thoroughly to settle the soil and eliminate air pockets. Apply mulch around the base to retain soil moisture and control weed growth.
