Acacia floribunda – Gossamer Wattle is a hardy, fast-growing evergreen native that brings both aesthetic softness and strong performance to the garden. It typically reaches 4–6 metres in height and 3–4 metres wide, forming a graceful, weeping habit ideal for screening, windbreaks, or as a backdrop in native planting schemes.
Its fine, linear foliage adds a light, feathery texture year-round, and in late winter to early spring, it produces masses of pale yellow cylindrical flowers that are lightly scented and highly attractive to bees and beneficial insects.
Acacia floribunda thrives in full sun, handles a wide variety of soil types (including clay and sandy soils), and is highly drought-tolerant once established. Its fast growth and adaptability also make it an excellent choice for erosion control, rural shelterbelts, and low-input planting zones.
